Horizons Awareness Day!!!

When: Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

Where: Reitz Union Colonnade

Time: 10am to 2pm

This year, Awareness Day will model the popular Discovery Channel show "Mythbusters". Each organization will focus on common misconceptions about any everyday subjects specific to their members and group. For example, cultural organizations can discuss common stereotypes about their heritage and "break that myth" by showcasing their culture and organization through board games, skit, etc.

What should Campus Advent do? Any ideas? Let 'er rip!

* Sorry for the late notice, but UF JUST informed me, that a DATE AUCTION of any sort is not allowed on UF campus!!!!!!!*

THIS BEING SAID, we have slightly modified this event to "SPEED DATING", and having the 12 dinners being auctioned off after!

NOW EVERYONE CAN BE INVOLVED!!! JUST BE READY TO BID ON THE NICE ELEGANT DINNERS AFTERWARD, WHICH ARE STILL AT THE BROWARD BASEMENT!!!!


As you all know the SPEED DATING/FRIENDSHIP DINNER AUCTION is drawing near. Let me reiterate that this is SPEED DATING. GET TO KNOW A LOT OF LOVELY PEOPLE. The program will be divided into 2 parts:
Part 1 : actual speed dating,
Part 2: an auction of Exciting, Extravagant, Extraordinary, Extreme, and of course Excellent dinners between the lovely people you have got to know and love during speed dating,
Location: an exclusive location of our choice.........................BROWARD BASEMENT!!!!
During the Speed Dating take the time to get to know various people and hopefully find someone, and bid together on the lovely dinner, you won't be disappointed!!!!

At the end of Part 1 of our program, the room will quickly transform into a getaway for the lucky winners, and an exquisite meal will be served. For the not so lucky ones, refreshment will be available at the end of the auction.

Campus Advent Meeting... PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE MESSAGE

Hey Campus Advent-urers,
Ephesians 5:19-20 calls us to "Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ." Thus far, it has been an amazing year for Campus Advent. A year strong in fellowship and increase in faith. Let us continue to "tarry together" and offer up praise and thanksgiving to the Lord for the miraculous things he has done in our lives.
Tonight's meeting will be taking place in ROOM 285 at 7:00pm. For those of you who were there last week, it will be that same room on the second floor. Come on out and, as usual, feel free to bring a friend. This semester's focus is outreach and it will take the effort of EVERYONE to accomplish our goals.
Also, (VERY IMPORTANT) if you haven't checked your Facebook accounts in a while you should check it now. You all should have received an invite to the event, "World-Renown Pianist Neville Peter in Concert." If you haven't, go ahead and search the event on facebook and RSVP. Once you reply, whether you're going or not, MAKE SURE TO ADD ALL OF THE FRIENDS ON YOUR FRIEND LIST. Even those who may not go to UF. Neville's website is on there and his music would be a great way to minister to your friends.
